Wells YMCA was founded by a group of men in a coffee shop in Wells who were concerned about the plight of the local poor. Since then the charity has grown and changed with the times and under the name of YMCA Mendip now delivers a range of services across Mendip and more recently in the Yeovil area.
Services are delivered to predominantly young people and have an emphasis on housing, homelessness, youth & community work and provision of information, advice and guidance services.
To help us celebrate and mark this achievement we are holding a service of celebration at Wells Cathedral at 2pm on Saturday, 21st October, and everyone is welcome.
If you would like to find out more, please come along and meet our staff, volunteers and some of the people we support. It is not a ticketed event but we will be serving tea and cake so would appreciate it if you could let us know if you are attending to help our catering numbers.
Please contact 01749 679553 and ask for Andrea Airey or Karen Collins or email email@example.com with numbers.
