About us
Mendip YMCA has been operating from Wells since 1892 and we now deliver and support a wide range of services, mostly for young people, across the whole of Mendip.
We’re a fully autonomous independent local charity working for the people of Mendip with a main focus on young people and specialising in housing and homelessness issues.
Although we are part of the worldwide YMCA movement we are self funded and grateful to the many people and voluntary groups that help us with contributions and donations (and their time) as well as our partners with whom we have contracts.
We are an independent Charity and Company. The Board of Management are responsible for the governance of Mendip YMCA and has established a number of sub committees that oversee different aspects of the work.
