Maintenance Worker

Salary:  £19,012.5 per year –
Permanent contract
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
Location of Work: Mendip district and occasional travel in the South Somerset area.

Organisation background:

We work with people of all ages to prevent homelessness, using a range of methods, floating support, supported housing, Tenancy Accreditation, Drop in Centre, and deliver youth work through youth clubs and community project workers.

Job purpose:

To ensure that YMCA delivers a clean, warm, welcoming, safe, environment for young people, staff and visitors, within the premises/properties from which we operate, whether owned, rented or managed by the organisation.

The post holder’s specific responsibility will be to deliver an effective and responsive repair & maintenance service across the organisations designated sites in the Mendip district area as directed by the Senior Facilities Manager.

Youth worker on line

Location: Flexible both in the Mendip and South Somerset areas & home working
Hours: 7.5 hours per week (Delivery Hours / days flexible and to be agreed with workers in post, based on project research for suitable delivery times).
Rate of Pay: £10.19 per hour
Contract Type: Fixed term until 31/03/2020

The Role:

Online youth work is aimed at providing information for and to young people about the online and offline youth services that are available to them.  Youth workers online will also consult young people. How the Youth workers online project is set up and delivered will take its lead from young people. The project is characterised by purposeful interaction between youth workers and young people primarily through online and digital platforms.

You may have experience as or in:  Outreach Worker, Support Staff, Support Worker, Challenging Behaviour, Voluntary Sector, Social Work, Social Care Worker, Teaching, Teaching Assistant, Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Youth Worker, Detached Youth Worker and Youth Provision

Youth Project Worker post for the West Mendip area (Street and Glastonbury)

Location: Based at Street Youth and Community Centre but delivering in Street and Glastonbury
Hours: 4 hours per week
Rate of Pay:   £10.19 per hour
Contract Type: 3 months fixed term with possibility to be extended until 31st March 2020.

The Role

  • To develop and deliver non-centred based youth work for young people aged 11-19
  • To work with local young people, in their community, through setting up, delivering and evaluating a range of relevant, effective youth work projects. Each project would last between 6-10 weeks and be relevant to the community and provide young people with fun informal learning and developmental opportunities.
  • To deliver an annual town centre project to challenge perceived negative stereotyping of young people
  • To provide young people in the area with support, guidance, and positive activities in order to help them reach their potential and become valued members of the community

Vacancy – Relief Workers across Mendip and South Somerset

We are passionate about the work we do and need equally committed members on our team to help us achieve those goals.

Job Purpose:

Relief Workers play an important and valuable role in covering staff absences and in ensuring continuity of support to Young people and clients with whom we work with.

Vacancies: We are looking for relief workers required for Supported Housing and Youth Work across all sites in Mendip and in South Somerset

  Rate of Pay:

  • £9.74 per hour + annual leave.

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience in working with young people
  • Have efficient and organised recording and administrative skills
  • Are prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS and check of the ISA Vetting & Barring Scheme

A&E Services (UK) Ltd in partnership with YMCA Mendip are seeking to recruit:

3 x Concierge Officers for YMCA Mendip’s Supported Housing Projects

The successful candidates will be required to work nights & weekends to within a varied shift pattern

Salary rate: £8.50 per hour

We are looking for 3 staff members to join our team working between FROME – SHEPTON MALLETT – STREET & WELLS

If you have good communication skills, are a positive thinking and have the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment we would like to hear from you.

Candidates must hold a valid S.I.A. Licence & A First Aid qualification

The duties include ensuring the safety of the residents, liaising with the customer support team and emergency services as & when required, monitoring internal CCTV, patrolling the premises, dealing with incidents and residents issues in a timely and appropriate manner, monitoring the movements of all visitors in & out of the buildings.

Full training will be provided to carry out this role.
